Sometimes called a pontic, a dental bridge is a false tooth fused between two crowns to fill in the gap left by a missing tooth, or sometimes a few missing teeth. Using a crown at either side to hold it in place, this is a semi-permanent fixture unlike a partial removable denture, which will last for many years. Where there is a healthy tooth on only one side of the space, a cantilever bridge may be an option.
